Pro-life classes set to begin in Fallujah

On the heels of successfully winning the "hearts and minds" of Fallujah citizens, Coalition forces will soon launch similar classes in that Sadr City, according to a military release. The first workshop, "Respecting Life and Liberty," will be led by retired general Sanchez.

Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez, former commander of U.S. ground forces in Iraq, retired from the Army on Wednesday, saying the military has brought freedom and success to Iraq under his leadership.

"We have been saying since 2003 that we could live there for years, if we continue to apply our theories of love and justice," Sanchez told reporters. "We can continue to support life for the people of Fallujah and Sadr city and these classes are just one example.

Sanchez, a native of Rio Grande City, Texas, commanded coalition forces in Iraq from June 2003 until July 2004. He was largely responsible for the improvements to Fallujah during that time and the stellar administration of the Abu Ghraib prison. Iraqi prisoners at Abu Ghraib were showered with treats and goodies during his tenure and an Army board praised Sanchez for his dedication, faith, and thoughtfulness. Just Kidding

Rice: iraq like Vietnam

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told business executives that Iraq could be the kind of success story that postwar and communist Vietnam has become if its leaders make the same kind of strategic choices.

Vietnam is Southeast Asia's fastest-growing economy and a regional trade center 30 years after the U.S. military defeat here, a success that once might have seemed far-fetched, Rice said. "Thirty years ago, what American would have thought that we would be standing in Vietnam ... talking about free markets and open trade," Rice asked.

"I don't mean to diminish the difficulties that we have in Iraq or that the Iraqi people have in Iraq," she said during a question-and-answer session after the speech. "But the Iraqis, if they do make good decisions, like Vietnam has made good decisions," can turn their country into a democratic success that will one day seem unremarkable, she said.

All they (Iraq) needs to do is throw out the Americans, become a communist country, lock up all the collaborators, invade any neighbors with unfriendly governments, and then in a few decades start to implement market reforms such as the Vietnamese "Renovation" program while continuing to have communist rule.
